About Us

DigitalBenchmarks is internationally recognized for its expertise, honesty and thoroughness. Every project is personally designed and supervised by DigitalBenchmarks' President Daniel Grotta and Vice President Sally Wiener Grotta.

Daniel Grotta & Sally Wiener Grotta

For well over a decade, Daniel Grotta and Sally Wiener Grotta were PC Magazine’s resident experts on digital photography, imaging, scanning, color management and anything else related to pictures in computers. At PC Magazine Labs, they created the test scripts for digital photography, cross-platform testing, imaging software, scanners and digital image quality, as well as defined many of the magazine’s other protocols and procedures for testing and analyzing various imaging products and processes. They have written well over 1,000 articles and reviews on technology for just about all the major tech publications, as well as numerous books on imaging and photography. The Grottas are popular speakers on the subject, having conducted seminars throughout the continent, and appearing on various TV and radio shows.

At DigitalBenchmarks, the Grottas have expanded and extended the test processes and protocols that they established at PC Magazine, to provide greater in-depth competitive analyses, R&D testing, market analyses and other services. Their clients range from manufacturers to investment companies to corporate users of digital technology.

On a separate front, the Grottas are also experts on the publishing industry. Daniel Grotta is a graduate of the prestigeous Radcliffe Publishing Procedures Course (now at Columbia University), as well as the editor of numerous books. Both Daniel Grotta and Sally Wiener Grotta speak at various conferences on the publishing industry, on subjects ranging from the care and feeding of editors, to the business of being successful authors. It was only natural that, when publishing and digital technology converged, the Grottas would expand their lab testing, analyses, reviews and consulting to include e-publishing and e-Books.
